Our tongue expresses our inner thoughts and feelings. Our speech uncovers our inner thoughts and expresses what we think. If it was not for our ability to speak, we would be quiet just like animals and there would be no more discussion, explaining and understanding among men.

*What Corrupts the Tongue:*
Many things will corrupt it. Nearly twenty causes have been cited for the corruption of the tongue.
_*1) Talking in Vain:*_
a) Talking in vain will only waste our time and is one of the causes of corruption of the tongue.
*The Holy Prophet (s.a.w) said:*
_”One of the signs of the excellence of a Muslim’s submission to God is his leaving what does not concern him”_

_”To be patient in the face of hard-ships is a virtue but to refrain from forbidden deeds is a greater one”_
